Metropolitan Ice Cream Inc.(“MIC” or the “Company”) was a manufacturer of all natural ice creams and fresh fruit ices for Toronto restaurants, hotels and retailers. MIC filed an assignment in bankruptcy on August 10, 2021 under the provisions of section 49 of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act. Dodick Landau Inc. was appointed Trustee in Bankruptcy in this proceeding. As a result of the bankruptcy, a stay of proceedings has been initiated and all proceedings against the Company are stayed as of the date of bankruptcy. The first meeting of creditors took place on August 31, 2021.
Any creditor that has not yet submitted a proof of claim to the Bankruptcy proceeding may still do so in order to be able to participate in distributions to creditors in the future.
